We are Poultry breeders located in Puhoi North of Auckland . We
specialise in breeding Heritage Breeds and at this time Breed,
Gold Wyandottes, Blue, Black and Splash Australorps & Buff Sussex's,
We also hatch and raise fertile eggs from other breeders and currently have Araucanas. Our goal is to help protect and promote heritage breed poultry so generations to come will have these interesting and character full birds around for a long time to come. To achieve this we hope to get chooks back into the urban environment as they were commonly not so long ago as well as promote and support other breeders. Heritage Poultry FARM TOUR and Information Days There has been a lot of interest in Organic poultry care and routines and many people asking to visit our farm to see and talk to me. So I am running a farm tour and information day once a month. We will spend 4-5 hours at our farm talking in depth about everything chook related. This is suitable for existing and new fanciers and breeders. Cost of $40 per Adult $60 per couple $20 per child. A min of 15 people and a max 20 is required. Please email me with your interest and the date you would like to book on. I will confirm when enough people are booked for each day and send the details back with the confirmation. A 50% deposit is required at time of confirmation to hold your place as I have had 30% of people booked on the last 2 days pull out or no show at last minuite. We are interested in self sufficiency and sustainability and believe in Organics and non GMO products. We raise our birds with natural chemical free healthcare products. This is my favourite Splash Australorp hen from last seasons breeding she is 21 weeks old and is a great size and shape. Rare and definetly not for sale.

We are now at the end of the breeding season as the daylight hours reduce our breeeding hens are all heading to the moult and going for a rest. We have SOLD THE LAST OF THIS SEASONS BIRDS.
New season birds available Approx August
Usually pullets are available after 12 weeks. I guarantee the sex and will swap it back later if ever a cockeral was sold as a hen.
We dont take orders or deposits.
All our pullets are $40 at 12 weeks - any birds sold earlier are $30 and not guaranteed unless sex-linked.
Sex linked Sussex and Wyandottes can be purchased for day one if you have a brooder setup and are $20 each until 7 days old then $30 each up to 10 weeks old then $40 each
Fertile eggs when available are $2 each
We dont sell birds on Trademe etc and only sell direct through this web site

Chicken COOPS
We have designed a very practical simple coop that we use ourselves and sell on order. These are designed using as much recycled or seconds material as possible but presented in a new look and stylish manner.
This coop has all the required basic principles of a good coop for raising healthy organic chooks
Our Chicken coops have proved very popular and we usually have one available
The coop 1240 x 920 at base for $450 with optional 2.5 meter attached run for $200 and suits up to eight hens with access to free range
This coop is what we use ourselves for our breeding pens. They are designed to use the deep litter bed system and have many great features including 1.5 meters of roost space using solid 45mm roosts, 2 huge nest boxes that a full size hen can turn around in and be comfortable, steel roof, totally waterproof and fully painted with low toxic acrylic paint, very strong and longlasting.
STARTER PACKAGES
Our speciality is introducing new fanciers to poultry and offer a complete starter package that includes, hens, coop & run, organic health care products and 20 kilos of feed. This includes you choosing your own hens.
Organic Health Care Products
We care for our birds organically without the use of any chemicals and really enjoy helping people learn how easy it is to do themselves. The main products we use are Diatomaceous Earth - AHE tonic Apple cider vinegar and resell these in smaller quantities
